According to Garfield, his father who has Alzheimer’s disease was found on ward at Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) after he wandered from his West Cumberland home in Portmore, St Catherine last Saturday.
The younger Robinson said he received a call from a gentleman said to be a racehorse trainer, who informed him that his dad had come by Caymanas Park last Saturday stating he’d liked to be taken to KPH. His body bore no sign of any physical injury.
“He said he saw the story online and remembered seeing him by Caymanas (Park), saying he wants to go to KPH,” Garfield recounted the conversation with the trainer, who called him via the telephone numbers listed at about 5:00 pm this evening.
“He said he remembered saying to the other men that ‘this man (Raphael Robinson) don’t look like he’s in his right mind you know’. But by then my father had walked off from where they were.”
As to how the senior citizen got to KPH remains anybody’s guess, but the family is very happy he’s at a safe place and receiving treatment. Hospital records indicated that elder Robinson was admitted on ward Saturday evening.

“It’s the first time this is happening. First time he has wandered off,” Garfield said.
Garfield, a renowned photographer at the Jamaica Observer, added: “We would like to thank the media and public for their efforts to help spread the word so we could find him. We all now can sleep well tonight because any misfortune could have happened to him. So we are extremely grateful for this effort by those who spread the word that he’s missing.
“We are not sure if the doctors going to discharge him tomorrow, because he’s receiving intravenous fluids at the moment. Maybe he’s dehydrated, we are not too sure. But we’ll be speaking to the doctor shortly.”
