Residents served by the facility have been without water from about 11:30 am yesterday due to a mechanical problem, Brown said.
He explained further that while engineers were resolving the mechanical issue another glitch in the system materalised, this time electrical in nature.
The team, he said, has spent much of the night trying to remedy the problem to restore service as quickly as possible.
“I can’t put a definitive timeframe, but hopefully you should have water at some point during the course of today,” Brown said.
The areas currently affected are Marlie Mount, Old Harbour Villa, Church Pen and surrounding communities.
