Speaking at the post-game press conference afterwards, Whitmore said they deserve to go through to their third straight Gold Cup semi-finals.
Jamaica, a finalist at the last two Gold Cup editions, will play host nation and defending champions the United States of America on July 3, in the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
The winner will meet either Mexico or Haiti in the July 7 final in Chicago.
